With the Biological Interactive Outcomes Modular Environment (BIOME) FLEXCART users are able to perform cellular biology with their own two hands! This modular environment houses four touchscreens integrated with Interactive Digital Media (IDM) Touchscreen Software, used to engage students with real life inquiry-based scenarios!
Presented to students through game challenges to explore cells in a real world context through cancer, diabetes and organelle recognition. This FLEXCART is designed to lead users to a closer understanding of biological concepts and phenomena of Life Sciences and can be used in both single and multiplayer settings, allowing students to compete against one another.

Currently, this is a prototype that was created in 2018/2019 under a National Institute of General Medical Sciences/Small Business Innovation Research grant. Three gaming biological processes storyboards were created and are aligned to NGSS life science standards. This FLEXCART innovation is currently in research and development.
National Institute Of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) of the National Institute of Health (NIH) awarded FLEXHIBIT a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant for their innovation, the BIOME FLEXCART.
